10 Video Game Easter Eggs & Secrets Only TRUE FANS Noticed
4. Berserk's Dragonslayer - Elden Ring
It's no secret that the Soulsbourne games take big inspiration from the epic dark fantasy series Berserk, written by the late great Kentaro Miura. Still, while the allusions to this iconic franchise are mostly just that, one weapon in Elden Ring crosses the line from imitation to pure Easter Egg territory.
The Greatsword is a colossal sword available near the Caelem Ruins in Dragonbarrow. To most Elden Ring players, this massive hunk of metal is nothing more than a cool blade. But, any Berserk fan will quickly note it as the iconic Dragonslayer, the hulking mass of iron that acts as series protagonist Guts' main weapon.
While it's not an exact replica, the influence is undeniable, as no other sword in fantasy fiction matches up to this monstrous Greatsword. There's also no denying that going to town on enemies with this iconic death machine makes you feel like the legendary Black Swordsman.
Of course, there are plenty more Berserk references and homages sprinkled about The Lands Between (Blaidd is basically just Guts in his Berserker armour), but this one really strikes a chord with fans of the manga/anime.
