Smoke Monster, science, fate, flashforwards, flash sideways and crys of WAAAALLLLLTTT are all things ripped from the LOST. It was a TV show that became a culture phenomenon. What do you do when you love something? You reference it all the time. Video games regularly drop in references to references to other media, whether it be movies, music, tv and even other games. However, the Easter egg in Just Cause 2 takes it a step further. Sure other game have dropped in the numbers or maybe a hatch, but there's nothing like this. The developers, Avalanche Studios, didn't just throw in a couple of nods here and there, but they threw in the whole damn island. If you take a sneak peak at your map, you'll notice a suspicious island just off the coast of the main one. Why don't you fly over it, nothing bad can happen, right? Well, no. Even if your in the strongest plane, you'll still crash. When you then hit the mysterious island, the sky will darken and the heavens open with rain. Some users have even reported hearing the mysterious noises of the smoke monster. Pretty cool, right? Well yeah, but keep exploring and you'll find bits and pieces from the show. The wreckage flight 815, some bits of a camp on the beach. Oh, and the hatch, of course.
