10 Video Game Easter Eggs It Took Years To Find

4. Sarcastic Announcer In Wave Race: Blue Storm

You think having to open a drawer a bunch of times is a challenge? Tell that to the poor sap who spend so much time messing around in the menus of arcade jet ski simulator Wave Race: Blue Storm they uncovered an Easter egg that had gone undiscovered for nine years. That's almost a decade! The Gamecube wasn't even around for that long! People were probably thrown off the scent by the fact that the "secret" passwords screen for Blue Storm had long since been found (by pressing START+Z+X on the options menu), allowing them to unlock everything from dolphin riding to secret time attack competitions. Little did they know that there was more to be found...in the audio settings menu. A menu that nobody ever, ever goes to. Because why would you, unless you're the guy who wants to play Wave Race: Blue Storm through your Dolby Surround set up, something nobody would ever wish to admit? Anyway, by entering a seemingly random series of button presses (L R L R UU DD AZX) on said menu, you unlock possibly the greatest feature the game has: the usually obnoxiously obvious commentator is replaced by a sarky git who mocks you through entire races. It's brilliant.
