10 Video Game Embarrassments You Won't Believe

8. Counter-Strike 2 Is Valve's Lowest-Rate Game EVER

The elation over Valve shadow-dropping Counter-Strike 2 back in September was incredibly short-lived, as players soon enough dogpiled it for performance issues, glitches, lacking content present in predecessor Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Valve deciding to remove Global Offensive from Steam altogether.

This created enough of a perfect storm that Counter-Strike 2's Steam user reviews quickly landed a "mixed" rating, making it the lowest-rated Valve-published game on the platform.

Granted, Valve's hit-rate is incredibly high with the likes of Half-Life, Portal, Dota, and Left 4 Dead among its back catalogue, but even so, the disastrous launch was doubtless a huge embarrassment for the company.

Valve was also further criticised for releasing the game as an update to Global Offensive, meaning that Global Offensive's rave reviews were counted towards Counter-Strike 2's overall total, resulting in its overall user reviews still registering an unearned "very positive" rating.

While it's incredibly likely that the game will be in a vastly superior state months from now, it's a horrible look for arguably the most anticipated FPS of the last few years.
