Basilisks are also known in the Dark Souls Series as Curse Toads, and this name feels pretty apt when every word that will come out of your mouth while fighting these horrible creatures would make a sailor blush.

These horrors, quite simply, are some of the most frustrating enemies to take on in Dark Souls, because even the most skilled runner of the game can be caught afoul of their Curse inducing smog which will turn you into a statue killing you instantly.

It wouldn't be so bad if the little bastards would just sit still and take an axe to the face, but they constantly leap about, and in Dark Souls 2 they even gave them the ability to headbutt you and deal damage through swipes further adding insult to injury.

The collective playerbase groan when a swarm of these foul beasts rocks up can be heard as clear as the Bell of Awakening and I'm sure that many fans of the series would like to use that bonfire to burn every last one of them to ashes.
