10 Video Game Exclusives You NEVER Got Over Not Playing
1. Joker In Batman: Arkham Asylum & Batman: Arkham Origins' Knightfall DLC - PlayStation 3
Many people expected 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum to be underwhelming. After all, Rocksteady Studios were relatively inexperienced and video games based on comics tended to be lackluster (if not horrendous).
Miraculously, Arkham Asylum was exceptional across the board, as it truly made players feel like the Caped Crusader embarking on an authentic crime-fighting adventure. Today, it’s still regarded a top-tier superhero title on multiple platforms.
What could be better than playing as Batman, though? Playing as his archnemesis (and the quintessential comic book villain), the Joker.
However, only PS3 players got the chance to tour downloadable Combat and Predator challenge maps as the homicidal prankster (complete with new gameplay mechanics, “game over” screens, and weapons such as Joker Teeth and X-Ray Specs).
The DLC was included in the Return to Arkham compilation (for PS4 and Xbox One) several years later, but prior to that, you had to have a PS3 to be the Clown Prince of Crime.
Similarly, there was the PS3-exclusive Batman: Arkham Origins Knightfall DLC, which included cool new Batman skins and challenge maps. At the time, Xbox users missed out on it, and because Origins hasn’t been rereleased on newer consoles, modern PlayStation players have as well.
