10 Video Game Exploits We All Did

9. Bucket Head - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

A personal favourite here for our second slot because if there’s one thing I love in an RPG, it’s stealing every little thing I can find like some kind of kleptomaniac rummaging raccoon.

What makes a kleptomaniac rummaging raccoon’s life easier is when you can’t be spotted doing your thieving. Sometimes killing off the subject who’s setting off your stealth indicator is a solution but that’s usually too messy to work consistently. Nope, what you want is a humble bucket. In one of video game’s greatest exploits, players discovered that they could pick up a bucket and gently angle it onto a nearby Skyrim NPCs head thereby breaking their line of sight to you and their treasured possessions, letting you pilfer in peace.

Was it fair to the NPC? Absolutely not. Did it break the game? Only a little. But was it hilarious every single time? You betcha.
