8. Dead Orbit - Destiny

Fallout New Vegas
Bungie

Without sugarcoating it, factions in the original Destiny were largely pointless. Guardians could side with one of three different groups, all with varying extremist ideologies on how to secure mankind's future, but in a gameplay sense, the choice boiled down to 'which one has the best guns?'

The answer to that question, from start to finish of Destiny's lifecycle, was always Dead Orbit. Even if you vehemently disagreed with the clan's mantra of abandoning Earth to seek refuge in space, it mattered naught. Already boasting a leg up on the competition with black and white (it's the best pairing) decals, Dead Orbit's armoury stocked the best of the best, a particular highlight being Hung Jury. Scout rifles were king in the OG Destiny, and this one, besides being essentially recoilless, came with one of the best perks right out of the box in Firefly.

Poor New Monarchy and Future War Cult never got a look-in, thanks to their inferior wares. The only reason to ever rescind membership of Dead Orbit and pledge allegiance to either, was for your Guardian to get their mitts on some admittedly slick-looking armour Shaders. Then it was right back to the latter to continue the never-ending chase for God roll weapons.
