2. Volcano Manor - Elden Ring

Fallout New Vegas
FromSoftware

Elden Ring ditches the traditional Covenant system of previous Souls games but that doesn't mean the Lands Between is free from infighting between opposing ideologies. The Volcano Manor, Praetor Rykard's stronghold, strongly opposes the Golden Order and, well, anything or anyone who doesn't have a fondness for snakes. Unlike those, the Tarnished can pledge allegiance to the Manor early on by following Rya's questline.

Doing so grants access to the Manor — a late-game area — and all the riches therein. Here, you can completely shirk the responsibilities bestowed upon you by Rykard's humanoid wife Tanith, and instead infiltrate the Manor's inner sanctum, plunder its treasures, and put a sword between the Praetor's many, many eyes. To twist the knife even further, you can revisit the parish at a later date to find Tanith mourning (and eating) her late husband's corpse. It's entirely up to you whether she deserves to die by your hand, too, but laying her to rest will trigger a secret miniboss fight. Polish that off, and you'll become the proud owner of an armour set and Incantation not available anywhere else in-game.
