2. Liquid Snake - Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid has some pretty bombastic villains who love to talk and love even less to die. Liquid Snake’s whole drive in Metal Gear Solid is his hatred for his brother; obsessed with the idea that he received Big Boss’ inferior genes, he will stop at nothing to prove his worth.
The first battle players have with Liquid is against his helicopter and the FOXHOUND leader somehow survives it crashing to the ground to go on to be the game’s final boss. In the final act, he upgrades from a chopper to Metal Gear REX which in itself is a two stage boss fight.
Even after REX explodes and becomes inoperable, Liquid drags his brother Solid Snake on top of the machine for a round of shirtless fisticuffs which ends with the villain falling to the ground below. Still not done, Liquid chases Snake and Meryl out of the facility on a jeep firing an automatic rifle at them.
It’s when he finally reaches the cold light of day that Liquid Snake succumbs. Not to his wounds, but to the FOXDIE virus that had been inside of him all along.
Whilst he might fall at the final hurdle, consider the entry in this list as a big round of applause to Liquid Snake for being practically unstoppable.
