10 Video Game Franchises That Deserve Their Own Netflix Series

8. Infamous

A possible film adaptation of Infamous received some press back in 2009, but the lack of updates since then suggests that it has likely been abandoned for some time. Unfortunately, it was never realistic to expect an Infamous movie to begin with. At the very least, it wasn't realistic to expect a film worth watching.

With the games typically running at ten plus hours to complete, a film adaptation would have to skip quite a few story beats by sheer necessity. Complicating matters further is the fact that a standalone film would really have to adapt both of the first two games if it wanted to follow Cole MacGrath's storyline to the end. The first game ends with a sequel setup that just isn't advisable for films with no guarantee of a sequel.

Not only could a Netflix series transition rather smoothly from Cole's encounter with Kessler to his preparation for fighting The Beast, but it could also set up some of the more interesting story elements added in Second Son and First Light.

New powers, new underground organisations - drawing from the later games could allow a series to set the story from the first two games in a bigger, more complex world populated with an even larger array of intriguing characters than the games have offered so far.
