Sniper Elite V2 is where the series really took flight, introducing the X-ray cam of the sniper's bullet carefully tearing through enemies like tissue. Later games would refine and improve on this formula, but V2 is the game that gave the series its good name.

V2 is more of a remake of the original than a true sequel; it came seven years later and set out to refine the mechanics of it. The first game was a decent shooter but it wasn’t all the memorable, with the missions becoming fairly samey after a while.
