10 Video Game Glitches That Turned Into Features
6. Pig Creepers - Minecraft
Creepers are one of the most iconic mobs in Minecraft and arguably one of the most recognizable video game monsters in pop culture in general. However, their unique appearance was not actually a deliberate choice made by the game's developers, but rather a simple coding mistake that sparked their curiosity and eventually turned into the green, frowning monster we know today.
When working on an early build of Minecraft, Notch, the original developer of the game, accidentally swapped the height and length values when trying to create a pig model.
What came out of this small error was a grotesque, vertically standing creature which amused and disturbed Notch in equal measure. The man loved the weird anatomy of it so much that he decided to give this being an iconic green texture and leave it in the game.
This one mistake soon became the face of Minecraft, and to this day, Creepers are the bane of any player's existence, lurking around corners, just waiting for an opportunity to blow something up.
