The Scroll of Literacy Check, when you first receive it, seems like kind of an interesting mystery. If your literacy skill is below ninety, you get fragments of the message it contains, and may lead you to suspect that it contains some sort of cool hidden secret.

So does it lead you to a trove of hidden treasures? Or an ancient evil, slumbering for years, which you can nobly slay?

Well, no. Instead, if your literacy skill is ninety or above, you'll be able to finally read the message. It states "If you can read this, you must be pretty good!".

If you were excited to learn what was on this message, then the actual contents of it likely disappoints you. However, it's also pretty fun that the "Scroll of Literacy Check" is just that - checking how literate you are, and then congratulating you for being pretty literate.

Although it takes a while for the punchline to pay off, it's worth a good chuckle when you find it. A slightly annoying one, if you were hoping it'd be useful - but still funny, nonetheless.
