10 Video Game Mechanics That Make No Sense

1. Cut-Scenes Without Pause Feature

Mass Effect 3 Speaking of Metal Gear Solid, how glad were we when the fourth game in the series, Guns of the Patriots finally allowed us to pause cut-scenes? Given how long the cut-scenes in those games are - the second game featured a pre-final boss scene that lasted close to an hour - nobody wants to be bursting for the toilet while trying to take in the awesome story. MGS4 finally remedied it, and the implementation of the relatively simplistic feature received unanimous praise. The rest of the gaming world has been pretty slow on the uptake, though; there's always that nervous moment when you want to pause a game during a cut-scene, and you hit the start button, only for the cut-scene to skip, meaning you either have to reload the game to watch it properly, or go on YouTube, load up a Let's Play video, and see what you missed. This should be one of those features that we just take for granted by now, but we're still waiting for developers to cotton on. Which senseless gameplay mechanics really annoy you?
