Resident Evil 5 garnered mixed opinions from players and critics. Regardless of how gamers feel about its action leanings, its survival horror elements (or lack thereof), plotting and so on, there’s one thing that’s tough to deny: it’s definitely a rollicking ride.

From ridiculous set piece to utterly over-the-top action sequence, Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar’s adventure is relentless. As a plus, it also features a huge amount of screen time for Albert Wesker, one of the most overpowered, iconic and hammy villains the franchise has ever seen.

By the time of this title, he’s achieved a power beyond anything our protagonists are really able to deal with. Wesker’s dastardly plot is to spread Uroboros, a new viral threat, into the atmosphere, with the aim of wiping out all but the strongest of humanity.

Needless to say, our heroes are less than enthusiastic about this plan, and battle to thwart Wesker throughout. In numerous encounters, though, we see how powerless even Chris’s incredible new ham-like biceps are against him; it’s really only through sheer plot armor that the duo are able to prevent a weakened, ‘poisoned’ Wesker from taking off in the plane that would spread Uroboros and finally bring him down.
