5. Why Are The Ferry Terminals Always Empty? - Grand Theft Auto IV

Though Grand Theft Auto IV features a prominent ferry terminal, many were left bemused and disappointed that the terminal is always empty, and so there's no way for players to hop on a ferry to take a trip around Liberty City.

It seemed odd for a developer as meticulous as Rockstar to include a disused ferry port in the game, but the mystery was only clarified earlier this year, when former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeij chimed in about it.

Vermeij revealed that despite speculation that ferries were removed from the game due to technical limitations of the era, it was actually a result of the physics issues they introduced. He said:

"It's more that they were causing other issues with physics (cars sitting on a boat). As well as people queuing and getting on and off. They were more trouble than they were worth."

And so, anyone hoping that the ferry terminal might actually be playing host to a grand undiscovered Easter egg of some kind, that's sadly not the case. It's simply a holdover from a scrapped gameplay concept.
