10 Video Game NPCs Hiding Dark Secrets

1. The Cannibal - Assassin's Creed: Unity

Set during the French Revolution, there's plenty of ghastly goings on during Assassin's Creed: Unity - but one NPC is intent on taking the grotty crown with his side business underneath the Tuileries Garden.

Traversing across the nearby coastline until you find an entrance allows you to enter a little underground tunnel, an area designed to contain one of the overwhelming amount of collectables to find in game - oh, and of course, a big pile of bloodied bodies next to a man butchering up some human meat. Just some perfectly average tunnel shenanigans, then.

Turning on eagle vision allows you to detect blood trails that lead to the man's table, originating from cages populated with captives that beg you for help. Despite being witness to bones, blood, and a real life cannibal cooking up the worst imaginable version of a Coq au Vin, there's nothing you can do to help them. The cannibal is just there as an easter egg to watch and then leave to his Gordon Ramsey ways.

Thanks Ubisoft, that's not terrifying at all.
