10 Video Game NPCs Hiding Dark Secrets

9. The Rhodes Gunsmith - Red Dead Redemption 2

Considering just how massively detailed Red Dead Redemption 2 is, you’re certain to stumble across some weird ass secrets that Rockstar have sprinkled in throughout the mammoth runtime. Whilst there’s whispers of aliens, zombies, and vampires that crop up in hearty doses across the wild west, there’s also a fair share of less than savoury humans shacking up in the townships too - including one seemingly normal gun shop owner that runs a family business in Rhodes. The family part is important, evidently...

Walking past the side of his shop reveals a barred window into the basement, where a boy frantically waves his arms out and beckons you to come closer. Going inside and threatening the owner makes him take you downstairs, where you’ll find a young man dressed in an ill-fitting sailor costume chained to a bed.

Turns out that the gunsmith’s son had died in a rifle accident and he’d taken it upon himself to find a suitable replacement - though the poor fella doesn't seem all too thrilled to be there as a stand in in this weird Pulp Fiction set up.

You can shoot either of them or pop the shackles off and let the little sailor run free, depending on how much of a scumbag you’re feeling at the time.
