10 Video Game NPCs Hiding Dark Secrets
6. Lisbet - The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
Bethesda are nothing if not over accommodating when it comes to making their worlds feel alive and immersive. From radiant questing to actual ants programmed into the game world, you can honestly lose yourself in the vast land of Skyrim, and as you’d expect, there are tonnes of NPC’s to interact with.
Most of the population are fine upstanding people. Yeah, some are low-down skooma fiends and bandits, but for the most part they’re as straight and honest as an arrow to the knee. Take Lisbet for example, who runs a nice store. An honest merchant doing an honest day's work all on her lonesome after her husband died; she’s just trying to make ends meet and even needs your help retrieving a stolen statue, so why not help her?
Well, turns out that if you take part in the mission “The Taste Of Death” which sees you try and put a stop to a group who are defiling corpses, that you’ll end up at a feast for cannibals (as you do right?) and who should be attending the gathering? Well none other than Lisbet, who even states that she murdered her brother, noting that he had a “juicy” liver, and that her husband “had such a great taste”.
Suddenly I’ve lost my appetite for trade. And in general.
