10 Video Game Records That Can’t Be Beat

4. Fastest Time For Completing Super Mario Bros.

The world of speedrunning and record-breaking is cutthroat, and like with various physical sports coming down to the wire, games are often measured in specific frames to determine an outright winner.

As such, the world record for the original Super Mario Bros. is a perfect run through its entire level set by Kosmic, who turned in a ridiculous 4:57.194, a time that shaved three frames - equating to 0.5 seconds - off the prior record to claim the top spot.

Achieving Super Marios Bros. fastest time has been fiercely fought over the years, but with Kosmic's frame-specific run, many within the speedrunning community have commented that the only way to beat this time, would be with an A.I.-based emulator.
