8. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Even accepting that we still don't have a remake of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, there's a fair argument to be made that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is the series' most iconic entry, and certainly the installment with the strongest story.
It's been more than 20 years since the original Metal Gear Solid received its own GameCube-exclusive remake, The Twin Snakes, and it's frankly shocking that it's taken so long for Konami to remake any of its successors.
Murmurs of a Snake Eater remake had been doing the rounds for years before Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was finally confirmed in May 2023, with a release date currently set for August 28.
Given that Snake Eater turned 20 years old last year and is the game which chronicled the origins of Big Boss, and therefore Solid Snake himself in a roundabout way, it's certainly been the most-requested potential Metal Gear Solid remake.
From the gameplay footage we've seen so far, it absolutely looks like a lovingly gorgeous reimagining, even without Hideo Kojima's involvement.
