As gamers, there's something in our brains that compels us to try and collect stuff, even if we might not really want to - and even if it might be a pointless task in terms of the reward we're given.

And quite possibly the biggest, most shining example of this can be found in 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which will award you with a literal pile of sh*t if you collect all 900 Korok Seeds. Yep. Just a pointless, curly little turd.

Hestu's Gift - described as "a gift of friendship" that "smells pretty bad" - is gained by scouting out each of those aforementioned seeds, which isn't exactly quick and easy. For some players it took over 100 hours, and because of the size of the game, it’s unrealistic to expect that you’re going to do it speedily.

And so, while there are benefits to collecting individual seeds (namely, an expanded inventory), you can't honestly justify getting all 900. Hell, the Switch doesn't have a trophy or achievement system either, so there isn't even a metagame prize to snag.

You'll just have to make do with your little golden poop.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
