4. Until Dawn – Cinema Room
Until Dawn’s use of the butterfly effect within its story made it popular amongst players. Focused on 8 young adults trying to survive on Blackwood Mountain, your decisions could save everyone, kill everyone or land you somewhere in-between.
One particularly tense moment unfolds during Chapter 5. Seeing Sam unwind in the Washington Lodge’s bathroom, she begins to suspect something is wrong after leaving and discovering her clothes are missing. Finding a set of balloons with directional arrows, this leads her to the Cinema Room.
What greets Sam within is genuinely horrifying. Having been watched during her bath, a video soon plays of her leaving it and a grim warning from The Psycho, ominously warning that might be her last happy moment.
Followed up by footage of Josh’s brutal death, The Psycho soon breaks down the door and gives chase. Unlike some story aspects, this scene is pre-determined and Sam must then hide from The Psycho.
Whether she gets caught comes down to you but it’s a chilling moment and it’s fair to assume Sam won’t be visiting a cinema anytime soon.
