10 Video Game Secret Screens Only Hardcore Fans Will Understand
3. The Donkey Lady's Corpse - Red Dead Redemption II
Red Dead Redemption II absolutely rewards players who venture off the beaten track, and anyone who visits the ruinous locale of Two Crows in the Cholla Springs region of New Austin will find an eerie sight - the skeletal remains of a woman tied to a mill, her head resembling that of a donkey.
If at first glance this might seem like just another creepy affectation from Rockstar - the game does also feature a serial killer subplot, for example - it's actually an extremely pointed reference to the infamous "donkey lady" glitch from the first Red Dead Redemption.
In that game, players could stumble upon a female NPC which accidentally bore the head of a donkey, and better still, it was inadvertantly programmed as a mount, allowing players to ride it around.
The clip quickly went viral upon RDR's release, and so in the sequel Rockstar decided to pay-off attentive players by revealing the donkey lady's grim fate.
