10 Video Game Secrets Devs DIDN'T Want You To Find

4. Kirby's Lady Friend - Kirby's Dream Land 2

Speaking of transgressive acts, remember when Nintendo hid a naked woman in a Kirby game?

The above screenshot depicts the layout for level 5-5 in Kirby's Dream Land 2, and it doesn't take a genius to see what the level designer was thinking when he arranged those blocks.

Frankly, it's amazing to think that Nintendo would have allowed such a thing, especially in the midst of the company's puritanical phase in the 90's. (This was the same company that would only publish Mortal Kombat after its developers removed all traces of blood).

To be fair, on the Game Boy's small screen it's impossible to see the completed layout all at once. You only see bits and pieces at a time, which may have explained how Kirby's lady friend slipped past Nintendo's stringent censors. That, and they likely didn't imagine one of their own would even think about putting such a thing in a Nintendo game, let alone actually doing it.

Kudos to you, unknown programmer, for inducing laughter in many a school boy/fully grown man.
