Hollow Knight is one of the most acclaimed video games of the last decade, though it wasn't without its issues, with many players complaining that the player speed was infuriatingly slow compared to the game's enemies.

Given that Hollow Knight is already an intensely difficult game, the player's sluggish locomotion abilities combined with the extensive amount of backtracking can often make it feel like a game that doesn't really respect your time, as excellent as it is.

But the impending sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, will address this head on, given that new protagonist Hornet can move much faster and has a more diverse suite of traversal capabilities.

Dashing will allow Hornet to move considerably faster than the Knight from the first game, in turn hopefully ensuring that combat feels "fairer" and navigating the game world less of a chore.

There's only so much that any one of us can play, so at least make it feel like our time is truly well spent, yeah?
