10 Video Game Sequels We're Still Crying Out For

3. Alan Wake 2

Remedy Entertainment's rather - let's say - liberal approach to video game development has frustrated many a fan over the years. It has, however, just as likely won them as many friends as they continue to overlook regular, cookie-cutter releases in favour of spending long periods developing unique and exciting prospects in gaming.

But while Quantum Break didn't quite match up to its lofty ambitions, 2010's Alan Wake still stands as one of the most fascinating video game stories ever told. In our time there have been so few games that manage to genuinely succeed as both an engaging adventure and an engrossing story, but Alan Wake is a shining example of how well the medium can be used when both facets are so finely tuned.

Even aside from the desire to play another game that's as enveloping as this first one, the myriad questions left at the end of Wake's misadventure (and the DLC) mean a return to Bright Falls feels like a must. So much was left unsaid and undone at the end of the first game, so surely Remedy have to turn their attention to this before too long?
