The Endless franchise has been all over the place in terms of genre and theme, but not in quality.

Starting with 2012’s 4X turn-based space fantasy Endless Space, they went on to create Endless Legend - a medieval fantasy 4X game, and most recently Humankind, the 4X turn-based historical civilization-building strategy game. Nominated for Best Sim/Strategy Game at the Game Awards 2021, Humankind was Amplitude Studios’ self-proclaimed magnum opus.

But don’t think Amplitude is a one-trick pony with different costumes, because in 2014 they also released Dungeon of the Endless a roguelike tower defense game that managed to get its own nomination for Best Strategy/Sim game of the year as well as Outstanding Achievement in Game Design at the 18th Annual D.I.C.E Awards.

Since Dungeon of the Endless was released Amplitude has put out a sequel to Endless Space and their aforementioned magnum opus, Humankind. But in 2020 they announced a sequel, Endless Dungeon. This time the game will be a roguelite, tower defense, twin-stick shooter. Endless Dungeon is set to release on basically everything in 2023 - featuring solo play or up to 3 player co-op.
