10 Video Game Studios Killed By Electronic Arts

1. BioWare (1995 - ?)

BioWare

Alright, I'll be straight with you guys; this one is pure hyperbole. BioWare is indeed alive and kicking, still making games and employing employees. There haven't been any massive lay-offs or press releases pointing to the studio's demise but let's be honest; it's not looking good.

Following the lacklustre critical response to Mass Effect: Andromeda, things have been looking a little shaky at BioWare. Whilst their main team is still hard at work on their new title "Anthem", according to an article published by Kotaku the Mass Effect franchise has been put on hold for the foreseeable future.

Following this, BioWare Montréal (the team behind Andromeda) was merged together with EA Motive - the team that was working with Visceral Games to produce the aforementioned Star Wars project. That's a definite red flag right there.

Combined with the fact that BioWare veteran of 14 years Mike Laidlaw, general manager Aaryn Flynn and Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider have all left the company in the last two years, suddenly things are starting to look bleak.

BioWare really have to knock it out of the park with their upcoming RPG Anthem. After all, less than three million sales in its opening week would most likely mark the end for the developer.

Lewis Parker hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would tell you to follow him on Twitter @LPCantLose, and to make sure you stay hydrated.
