10 Video Game Things They KEEP GETTING WRONG
1. Beautiful CGI Trailers... That Look Nothing Like The Game
You'd think with the massive strides we've taken forward in gaming in the last few years, the era of beautifully-rendered, sexy CGI trailers would have gone by the wayside in favour of actually showing us what a game really is.
Alas, that's not the case.
We were still getting CGI trailers for new games in E3 2021, as clearly the projects weren't far enough along to showcase anything meaningful. Instead, they wanted to try and wow us with some hot BS that - come release - will likely look nothing like the original trailer promised.
We can understand why this was done back in the day, when games didn't look as good as they do now. But why not wait instead until you've got something awesome to share in-engine?
Of course there's two sides to that coin; let us not forget the first initial Halo Infinite reveal and its infamous Craig brute.
The whole thing with CGI trailers also ties into a wider question: should games be announced as early as they are, or wait until we're closer to release?
