As a FromSoftware title and spiritual successor to the Dark Souls series, there was never any doubt that Bloodborne was going to be a tricky title to tame. Those battling to secure a platinum trophy face a steep challenge, the “Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen” gold trophy being a notable roadblock.

As with many of the game’s trophies, the requirement is simply to defeat the boss of the same name. She’s an elusive, sneaky and difficult foe, boasting projectile blood attacks, but the real issue lies in the journey to reach her.

The queen is essentially the ‘final boss’ of the Chalice Dungeons, located in layer three of the Great Pthumeru Ihyll area. To reach her requires hours spent in the deceptive, puzzle-laden dungeons, which are both entirely optional and referred to as the Old Labyrinth for a reason: It’s very easy to get lost down here.

In addition, several bosses must be fought on the journey to Queen Yharnam, some of which are much more difficult than she is herself (the Defiled Amygdala, for instance, is the bane of many a Hunter), sometimes in a weakened state as a result of the Chalice Ritual itself.
