10 Video Game Underdogs That Defied All Odds

Sometimes, traveling to an idyllic island with your friends for a retreat is very much warranted. What one doesn't expect to happen during said retreat is becoming a saviour, who simultaneously has to become a warrior to rescue his friends, and get revenge against an evil pirate lord. Jason Brody's journey in Far Cry 3 had him become an underdog in ways that he could never imagine.

Once Vaas, the aforementioned pirate lord, kills Jason's older brother and kidnaps his friends, Jason is forced to go on the run. He is soon taken in by the island's Rakyat tribe, and becomes smitten with the tribe's priestess Citra.

Subsequently, he undertakes various missions to help the Rakyat, while searching for his friends and removing pirate influence from the island. Jason is not only able to accomplish this, but outright transform from semi-delinquent into a fearsome warrior, who the Rakyat, and Citra, revere.

Seeing his brother murdered in cold blood by Vaas should've been done Jason in. In spite of an overwhelming force positioned against him, Jason was able to persevere, becoming an unlikely underdog in the process.

Whether or not Jason 'won' by the game's end is entirely up for debate, depending on what ending the player chooses. His keenness for surviving at all costs was executed perfectly, however, and Jason managed to defeat what he set out to beat.
