10 Video Game Villains Created Out Of Spite

Postal 2 is basically an entire game created out of spite, to thumb its nose at notions of political correctness and good taste, though its expansion pack Apocalypse Weekend makes one of its villain characters a crude avatar for the developer's frustrations.

One of the game's missions involves retrieving the master copy of the Postal 2 game itself from the offices of Bullfish Interactive, the fictional publisher that developer Running with Scissors apparently released the game under.

In reality Bullfish is clearly a thinly-veiled stand-in for Postal 2's very real publisher Whiptail Interactive, and reflects Running with Scissors' founder and Postal producer Vince Desi's actual frustrations with them.

This leads to the Postal Dude taking on Bullfish's CEO, Phraud Hogslop - who is very obviously based on Whiptail's president Fred Heslop - in a boss battle, where players are tasked with brutally murdering him.

This reportedly all came about after Running with Scissors cut ties with Whiptail due to breach of contract on their part, and in true Postal fashion, the developers decided to respond in the most outrageous way possible, getting as close as they could to lawsuit-worthy action without crossing the line.
