10 Video Game Villains That Switched Sides In The Sequel

4. Sarevok - Baldur's Gate II: Throne Of Bhaal

The primary antagonist of the original Baldur's Gate is Sarevok, an extremely badass Deathbringer who is responsible for the death of the player character's guardian Gorion, and who also tries to kill the protagonist themselves.

The game ends with Sarevok's defeat, and that seems to be that. But in Throne of Bhaal, the expansion for Baldur's Gate II, players are given the opportunity to resurrect Sarevok, in exchange for his knowledge and his combat might.

Though this is entirely optional, it's possible to change Sarevok's alignment by the end of the game depending on your dialogue responses to him throughout.

Never forgive or forget, but the guy sure can be a useful ally if you can get over what he did to Gorion.
