Game: Diablo III No one is arguing that Diablo himself is anything but a brilliant, iconic villain. The main antagonist of Blizzard's action RPG series, Diablo made for an awesome antagonist until the third entry in the franchise ruined everything. Diablo himself makes a 'surprise' appearance near the end of Diablo III, although he's looking a lot different to how we remember him. Gone is the massive, muscular design from yore, replaced with a skeletal, feral form that looks less intimidating than many of the vanilla enemies scattered throughout the various levels. Diablo's boss fight is also hugely disappointing. Not only is it a lot easier to defeat him compared to most of the other bosses, but the dark lord feels far less dynamic and fearsome than any of his brethren.
