10 Video Games 90s Kids Never Forgot

7. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

Need for speed underground 2
Activision

When Activision released this fully licensed Tony Hawk skating game on the original PlayStation, no one had any idea what to expect. The gamers of the time (myself included) certainly didn't expect it to become an out right phenomena.

The high skill ceiling, plethora of awesome tricks and lively environments helped the game in developing a cult following, and no doubt expanding the appeal of actual skating to thousands of new fans.

The game itself was incredibly fun to play. You could kickflip, grind and crash your way through many varied levels which, for the time, were complex and a joy to explore.

The staying power of this maverick of a game was its environments which could have you sliding along next to taxis and jumping over Parkside fountains one minute and flying through windows in an abandoned warehouse the next. The several different collectables in each level were devilishly placed and for experienced players would form some of the most satisfying 100% challenge runs ever set by a game.

Fortunately those too young to have played the originals they've just been remastered (to great reception) by Vicarius Visions for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
