4. Paul Carson - Dead Rising
The psychopaths of Dead Rising aren't the conversationalist types. Their deranged and traumatized minds make them extremely violent, and they tend to attack the player as soon as they cross their path. For this reason, you may assume it's not possible to reason with them, and while technically true, there is one exception to the rule.
In the original Dead Rising, one of the psychopaths Frank West comes across is a nervous punk teenager named Paul Carson. The kid assumes Frank is making fun of him, and he immediately retaliates by throwing a bunch of Molotov cocktails and setting everything on fire. You know, like one typically does in such situations.
When the player defeats Paul, the teenager drops one of his fiery concoctions onto his pants, and he starts burning alive. This is usually when the player assumes the psychopath has met his fate and it's time to move on with their life. However, if you have a spare fire extinguisher, you can actually attempt to save Paul. The near-death experience will help him regain his senses and allow you to recruit him as a survivor.
Aw, he was just misunderstood! A pyromaniac and prone to paranoia, but misunderstood nonetheless...
