10 Video Games You Can't Explain Without Sounding Like A Psychopath
10. God Of War 3
Good luck explaining: Kratos' motivations. Here we're going specifically with God of War 3, as this was when developers Sony Santa Monica seemed to just give up justifying protagonist Kratos' actions, and instead allowed him to tear through everyone he came across, friend and foe alike. At this stage in the franchise he'd essentially become the living embodiment of when a Dragonball Z character shouts loudly for 10 straight minutes, and so you can't blame Sony for delivering on the notion of letting people who were a fan of playing as an angry bald man do more of the same. However when Kratos takes it upon himself to sleep with a character's wife, only to then slaughter said character and go on to take down a gigantic enslaved Titan creature who posed no real threat, it starts to get pretty tiring. Becoming slightly nonplussed with the whole thing was a mentality that tons of us felt throughout the course of GoW 3, as although you could tell the financial might of Sony was backing the graphics and general sheen across every Ancient Greek corner, the combat was essentially the same as the first game, with the exact same square, square, triangle animation playing out a few hundred times before the end credits.
