10 Video Games Delayed To "Get It Right" (But Still Got It Wrong)
2. Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC)
Make no mistakes, Red Dead Redemption 2 - on console - is a masterpiece. It is the pinnacle of Rockstar's endeavours and will forever be remembered as one of the greatest releases during the Xbox One/PlayStation 4 era.
The PC copy, however, arrived a year after its console counterparts. Like with most games delayed by a year or more, the stakes were high and promises were made. It was meant to bring new story mode content and visual upgrades, but when it finally debuted for PC, it wasn't quite right.
The port was a disaster with some players unable to actually load the game up after spending a significant amount of time downloading and installing it. Shortly after, reports of performance issues began to flood the internet, exposing the launch for the shambles it was.
While the graphics are far superior compared to the console versions and patches have addressed many of the issues plaguing it, there are still many more bugs being found. It will progressively get better, but considering how long PC players had to wait, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a perfect, modern example of a video game delay that still managed to mess up badly.
