10 Video Games EVERYONE Gave Up On
1. Don’t Starve
Ending with a game that is almost universally considered to be not at all shit, 2013 indie darling Don't Starve comes in at what may seem like a surprisingly high retirement rate of 19.6%.
So what did this charming, atmospheric survival game do to earn a percentage even higher than Redfall and matching Forza Motorsport? Be really hard, mostly.
The majority of retirees said they just couldn't see themselves making it to the end of the game's story mode due to the difficulty of the survival gameplay. This is in large part because it requires quite a high level of clever strategizing, particularly in learning how to best use the tools available to you in the extremely tricky story levels. Wrapping up the Adventure Mode even if you do have the patience is likely to take you dozens of hours. On the other hand there was also a decent contingent of gamers who marked themselves as done with Don't Starve because Don't Starve Together came out.
If you decided to stop fighting with this one and go make a snack you don't have to scavenge for under the threat of being maimed, that's understandable.
