10 Video Games EVERYONE Gave Up On

2. Forza Motorsport (2023)

Redfall game
Turn 10

Now, this is a funny one to include as given the nature of its genre being a simulation racer with multiplayer online modes, you’d expect people will naturally choose to be done with it, especially when a sequel comes out, the game gets too dated, or they’re loads of hours in and have done everything they want to do. For example Animal Crossing: New Leaf has an 18.7% retirement score but that game came out in 2013 and even then loads of comments said they only gave it up because New Horizons came out.

Comparatively, Forza Motorsport came out in October of 2023, just five months ago, so we can’t give it the benefit of the doubt on its release date, what we do have is its critical reception and the 19.6% retirement stat.

To be completely fair, some people who decided they were done with the game may well have had their fun with it and chosen to move on and one comment on the site does say it was enjoyable but simply taking up too much console space. At a wild 132 gigabytes on the Series X that’s a pretty fair reason to call it. While the critical response was fairly good, players decried the controls and progressions system, while those who officially abandoned their time with it on HLTB said they didn’t like the changes made to the formula or it was too buggy and unfinished. Now, there is a tug of war between those whose experience with the game has been a technical nightmare versus the claim that the negativity is coming from bandwagoning.
