10 Video Games EVERYONE Gave Up On
6. Super Meat Boy
From the maniacal minds of Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes, platformer Super Meat Boy caused quite a stir when it came out in 2010. Not because it case you in the role of a cube of meat who would regularly jump into rotating saws and get blasted to smithereens but rather because it was so freaking hard. As the industry turned away from difficult games and toward those with difficulty settings and clear objective markers, this exercise in personal torture was on a personal mission to reject that and ultimately proved that gamers did want a proper challenge.
Well, a lot of them did. But not a lot of them seemingly finished this game.
Clocking in at just under 10 hours there’s a sizeable slice but not an overwhelming one for those who rolled credits on the journey to save your girlfriend made of bandages. Despite that, 13.3% of HLTB players reported putting this one down for good largely because the later levels proved to be just too difficult and it came time to simply admit defeat.
A number of comments also stated they lacked the skills while two got a little more specific saying "I suck too much” and “too old to git gud”.
