7. Getting Over It With Bennet Foddy

In the Redfall camp of games I’m sure you aren’t surprised to see pop up on a list like this, the infamously tricky yet hugely popular indie game, Getting Over It With Bennet Foddy, takes no prisoners. Few have seen it through to the end despite it clocking in at 6 and a half hours.

This is probably because you either get its extraordinary bizarre charm or you figured out really quickly it was not for you and thus contributed to the 13.2% of HLTB users who said “no more,” opting not to get over it, and instead to go do something else.

Impressive as the review scores are, it's not too surprising that a significant number of players decided that the game about getting a man in a pot up a pile of crap without falling while finessing intentionally tricky controls wasn't for them. Though it charmed plenty of gamers, HLTB users who decided to ditch the excessive climbing exercise expressed a level of raw fury  that it would be inappropriate for me to repeat.

As I'm also a gamer with very little patience, if you made it to the top you have my admiration.
