10 Video Games EVERYONE Gave Up On
3. Minecraft Legends
Given it tops out at a fairly tight runtime of 8 and a half hours and spawned from the best-selling game of all time, earning a 17.9% retirement rate when this thing came out less than a year ago is not a great showing from Mojang Studios. The reasoning here seems to be that the game was just deeply average, like completely middle of the road, fairly repetitive but not much to write home about.
It’s worth noting this one was available on GamePass so, like some of the other games on this list, it makes sense that more people might pick it up even if it’s not their thing but that doesn’t account for the resounding ‘eh’ this one got from players.
One of the title complaints is that it felt Mojang had just totally abandoned its player base once the game launched, resulting in an experience that just threw you back into the same uninspired loop over and over. The players who decided enough was enough and dropped a comment on HLTB saying why they didn’t want to play any more of it said the immediate shine wears off quickly and sledged it as straight up boring.
