10 Video Games You Just Had To Play Through In One Sitting

10. Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain was not Quantic Dream's first interactive drama, but it was their first attempt that truly helped blur the line between movies and video games. David Cage's compelling murder mystery told a cinematic story while giving the player freedom to have it unfold as they wished, and though some of the later plot revelations didn't quite work, it was on the whole considered a landmark title for the medium, making fantastic use of the PS3's advanced technology. Because there is no way to reach a "game over" screen in Heavy Rain, the game is one that's easy to just sit back and play without fear of frustration. If a character dies, they stay dead, and you simply move onto the next character. Hell, even if all the possible characters die, the game just reaches an ending, and players can then try out the various branching paths to see what's different. A first playthrough runs in between 8-10 hours, and once the story grabs you, it's pretty much impossible to put the controller down until you know who the Origami Killer is.
