10 Video Games Stuck In Development Hell (That We're STILL Looking Forward To)
3. Grand Theft Auto 6
With Grand Theft Auto 6's first trailer dropping next month, it's fair to say anticipation is running high for the next mainline entry in Rockstar's automotive crime series. Not just because it's the newest addition to one of gaming's most historic franchises, but because it's been over a decade since the release of GTA V.
Granted, Rockstar have been busy with other projects - Red Dead Redemption's horse testicles didn't shrink themselves - but ten years is still a long time between entries.
That, plus the troubling leaks, departure of Rockstar founder Dan Houser and allegations of a tortured development cycle, don't exactly paint the prettiest picture for the next Grand Theft Auto.
However, whenever Rockstar do get around to releasing GTA 6, we'll be there with bells on. Rockstar are masters at creating eye-poppingly detailed locations for players to immerse themselves in. Many players' defining memory of GTA V is simply driving around the city of Los Santos with the radio on, wondering how the hell they built such a world.
Only an extreme pessimist would bet against the sixth Grand Theft Auto being another open world masterclass.
