10 Video Games Supposed To Release On Other Consoles
2. The Last Guardian
The Last Guardian suffered through an almost comically torturous development period, with production beginning in earnest in 2007 as the arty action-adventure game was expected to land on the PS3 sometime during the generation.
Team Ico officially unveiled it to the public at E3 2009, sparking considerable interest among fans of their previous game, Shadow of the Colossus.
However, Team Ico was struggling to get the game running adequately on the PS3, and so in 2012 the decision was made internally to shift development to PS4 instead, which was just a year away from hitting shelves.
Word on the game was depressingly quiet in the years that followed, until it was finally reintroduced as a PS4 game during Sony's "Year of Dreams" presentation at E3 2015.
The Last Guardian was finally released in December 2016 to mostly positive reviews, even if many critics conceded its protracted development cycle caused the core gameplay loop to feel rather dated.
