10 Video Games That Are Even Better Than You Remember
3. Persona 3
To many, the biggest and most significant leap in the Persona franchise was in 2017 with the worldwide release of the fifth mainline game.
Persona 5 offered an experience that used the series' traditions to maximum effect, but as Persona's history stems back to the original PlayStation, Joker's journey through Tokyo wasn't the first to reinvent the JRPG wheel.
Persona 3 laid the groundwork for Persona 4 to develop upon, and 5 refined it in so many ways. Be it on the PlayStation 2 or the PSP, Persona 3 is a fantastic game as well as a fascinating history lesson, showing players how the norms of Persona came to be.
However, its darker tone and twisting story is so easy and enjoyable to experience, and compliments the upbeat Persona 4 and the incredibly stylish Persona 5.
Now long forgotten as its successors have gained critical and commercial acclaim, Persona 3 is better than most would have you believe, and if you had the foresight to play it all those years ago, know that it's even better now thanks to the stark contrast in tone that the later games showed.
