4. The Simpsons: Road Rage

The Simpsons hasn't had a particularly good track record as far as video games go, and we can probably all still feel the pain of ripping the plastic off of Simpsons Wrestling and the crushing disappointment that swiftly followed. The feeling continued with The Simpsons: Road Rage, an arcade game that lifted from the brilliant Dreamcast classic Crazy Taxi with the utmost laziness, taking the engine, essentially re-skinning the characters, cars and locales, and churning it out as quickly as possible. The game had Homer driving around, giving lifts to various Spingfield residents for reasons that aren't ever really explained, but the weirdest part about the game is the fallout that followed in its wake. Most of us assumed that developers Radical Entertainment had secured the rights to use the Crazy Taxi engine, but it transpired that, in fact, they hadn't, and Sega ended up suing every company involved with its production, with the case eventually being settled out of court. It's the ultimate indictment of a terrible game that shadily tried to rip off a game on not only a conceptual level, but essentially from the ground up architecturally.
